About 2 million employees are the victims of workplace violence each year. Many reasons may be cited for workplace violence, among them are, the pressure and stress of modern life, and economic, social, and psychological factors that can build up over time and drive people over the edge.
Workplace violence has spread to companies large and small, in all industries, all over the country. It can happen anywhere, anytime. This training session will focus on workplace violence and your role in helping to prevent and defuse violent situations.
Topics of discussion will include a variety of issues:
the scope of the problem
perpetrators and potential victims
stages of violent behavior
warning signs
intervention options
how to report incidents of workplace violence and, finally,
solutions to help victims cope with what’s happened
